Today's Choice for Tomorrow's Future

Music

Welcome to the Mascotte Charter School Music Web Page.

At Mascotte Charter, we offer general music classes for all students in Kindergarten through 5th grade, elective instrumental classes for 4th and 5th grade students, and elective drama classes for 4th and 5th grade students.

From the 3rd grade through the 5th grade, students learn to play the soprano recorder during the second semester of each year. Recorders are provided for use in class and are cleaned and sanitized after each use. If students would like, they may purchase a recorder of their own at a music store or at school.

Students may join our chorus, The Soaring Eagle Singers, in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Rehearsals take place on Thursday afternoons at 3:05 until 4:15 p.m.. In chorus, students learn to read music, sing in unison and harmony, and work as a team. They will participate in performances both at school and at other venues. So far this year, our singers have performed at the Lake Square Mall Festival of Trees, at the Mascotte Holiday Stroll, and received 2nd Place Best Walking Participant in the 2019 Groveland Christmas Parade.

Some students, each year, may audition to become a part of the Lake/Sumter Honor Chorus. This is a chorus made up of singers from many of the elementary schools in both Lake and Sumter Counties.

Last fall, our Kindergarten class performed in the Kindergarten Music Night.

To complete the year, we have the upcoming 4th Grade musical revue, Oceans of Fun, our All School Talent Show, and our 5th Grade Musical, Get in the Game. I hope to see you there.
